El-Sayed on Kamala: "In our conversations, she understood the challenges w/ the Biden-era policy toward Gaza & this is an opportunity for us to come together. The event we're doing is actually about an area she & I have both worked quite a bit on, which is maternal and infant mortality disparities"

Right now, we must focus on more important things than criticizing Biden/Harris’s heavily flawed policy toward Gaza. We need to put our differences aside, unite, and stop Trump from his corruption in our country and spreading more wars in the Middle East by voting out his MAGA followers.

Kamala got a lot wrong. She was wrong for the country and it was deplorable the party stuck us with her. She doesn't adapt when or because she is wrong. She adapts because the people spoke and she's just trying to do what she thinks we want. She has zero real convictions.

We live in a democracy, and if she was advocating for change with them, why would they go with Trump, who is factually much worse than any modern president we have ever had for Middle Eastern relations.

I was admittedly and initially an El-Sayed skeptic but I certainly came around. He certainly has what it takes. Hard needle to thread but he has whats needed. Oh I’m a nobody in CA so grain of salt.

As an outsider, i feel the failure of the Biden/Harris Admin to take a strong position on the Gaza Siege was a large part of the 2024 election loss Harris should have clearly stated that the USA would always defend Israel from foreign attack, but all offensive military aid ends without a ceasefire

I’m starting to wonder if Bluesky isn’t an echo chamber after all. The people that warring factions coalesce around find common ground and seek compromise and people just lose their shit because their favorite pastime or parasocial infatuation is threatened.

I've watched in my lifetime conflicts between Israel/ Gaza and Iran without any resolution and I'm old...to put all the blame on Harris/Biden while Trump just ordered 2 billion dollars worth of bombs for Israel is willfully ignorant to me...during her campaign people were also willfully ignorant

Nope, nope, nope. Forget Harris. She belongs in the dustbin of history. Sure, I voted for her, but everyone who failed to see that she was running a weak, losing campaign by the time we were a month out from the election was deceiving themselves. She lost a race she could have won.

Why on earth would he attach himself to her in any way? A large group of voters knew how dangerous trump was, and they still sat out because of her silence on Gaza. She wouldn't even endorse Mamdani.

The problem here is there hasn't been major combat or military activity in Gaza for months. On the otherhand,Russia and China are marching towards World War 3. Meanwhile, life is getting unaffordable. So why is anyone making Gaza (a frozen conflict we aren't party to)a major plank of their platform?

Well Trump wanted to but its currently on hold thanks to democratic ranking member Meeks. (Note this will overwhelmingly likely not stop the eventual transfer since Trump can override it, just for accuracy of what's going on.)

American "military aid to Israel" is a mechanism by which the US defense industry is maintained between wars by Congress. Israel doesn't want it. They don't even have room to store all the shit the US dumps on them to keep munitions factories running in key Congressional districts.
