The books came out from when I was 7 to 17, movies from when I read 11 to 21. At the rate they make shows nowadays, a kid watching season 1 at age 10 will be 58 by the time the finale airs.

Yeah, unless the Season 1 ratings are an absolute monster hit, David "I-LOVE-tax-write-offs" Zaslav will very likely hit this series with a cancellation hammer even faster than Harry catching the Golden Snitch in his 1st Quidditch game 😏

The neat thing about being a kid is that you get a total pass on loving works that are classist, racist, pro-cop, regressive, and anti-revolutionary. Not so much as an adult.

i used to love the production design, and seeing it completely ossified for the sake of brand coherency is just so sad. imagine being a set decorator on this show and having zero creative room because it needs to match the theme park ride or whatever
