Mixing bulleted lists with numbered lists with task lists like this, with `tab` handling for sublists? And the right HTML on the other side? With zero plugins? In ~1k lines of code? Prosemirror could never! Tossed it on GitHub: github.com/bholmesdev/b...

It’s all fun and games for the simple stuff but wait until you get to adding more complex interactions. Slate has a low floor and low ceiling. And ProseMirror has a high floor and high ceiling

I can +1 this. We were using Slate in production a few years ago and it was a never ending cause of headaches, we invested time to switch to TipTap and all of them went away.

I’ve heard tables to be difficult in Slate too? For markdown editor it may be fine but tweaking things is the editor game

I’ve been trying to move to tiptap from draft-js for years, but the project keeps getting sidelined. I did a ton of research and picked tiptap over slate and lexical. Sounds like you’re happy with tiptap?

I used to work for Tiptap, while I was there I wrote this: github.com/ueberdosis/d... I used to work for a place that used draftjs and wrote this so they could move off of it. I work for BlockNote now, which is another Rich Text Editor. More aimed at being the missing middle and UX oriented
