Here's a little sneak peek of the ongoing Android support project, for those who want to stay in touch with Blender development 🫆 #b3d

As someone who already heavily uses @python.org scripting to build Blender scenes and render them through Termux on my phone, I am very much looking forward to this.

Genuine question, but what is the ideal hardware for this? I know blender on tablets has been a big request for a while, but that was mainly because of the apple m series chips. Is there an equivalent on android that performs similarly?

There is a non-touch build for Android available outside of the play store right now to try out. Unfortunately, i don't know anything about how to use blender to see how well they work on my lower-spec Android hoard.

For having tried it on different very potato devices i can tell it's definitively not running as smooth than on pc(no shet), but honnestly you still can do quite a lot of basic stuff and i'm often using it to have 3d refs or special compositing effects in my krita 2d drawings

This may be my most excited-for feature I've seen yet in Blender. To be honest, any new feature in Blender is fantastic, but the idea I can bring Blender with me on a tablet would be beyond awesome! I'm looking forward to trying this out! Is there a way to test this out in beta? 👀

The port being worked on is actually just a mobile port, which means it will be avaliable for all phones and all tablets at the same time (from what i understood)
