Anybody want to come work on Tailscale's internal dev tooling/productivity, CI, bots, dashboards, etc? Pretty please? 😅

any possibility for hiring someone in UK timezone (in Lagos, Nigeria) - fantastic swe - worked together recently and he's looking for something - worth asking ;~)

I've got an architect level (former Google and reddit) friend who is starting to consider a job search. Can I put him in touch with you?

They switched to LUCI after I left. It seems like Go lost functionality with it honestly. I don't understand its advantages. I think it's just Chrome team staffed it and Go didn't want to staff build tools as much anymore?

FWIU most of the DevX group went on LUCI and the Go team folks were favorable. My understanding is that it was not imposed. At the time I was there, Chrome's director for the CI wasn't happy in getting more customers for a long time. I'm curious what regressions affect you the most.

IIRC at least when it was first introduced we lost some OSes, builds started much slower (slower setup time), and the failures were hidden behind relatively bloated JS/CSS pages.

Hi Brad. Is there a filter that rejects people from Quebec province? I’ve been rejected automatically several times while being in this field for a long time and matching the positions.

Unfortunately, I'm still very much locked into the country I'm in, and Germany doesn't make hiring its residents by remote companies very easy. (Even when you're extremely well paid, you still count as a temp worker; with the same 18 month limit, with 3 month exclusion after.)

Contractors in Germany are only allowed to stay at one place for 18 months straight while staying contractors. If this limit is crossed, then a full-time employee contact is automatically constructed. This is for the protection of temp workers, so that they cannot be held indefinitely in temp status

Would love to but all your positions are listed as SWE and not sure if my SRE coding skills will pass muster. It’d be awesome to program Go as a part of the job and not something I can only do when working on Prometheus exporters. And having the double Fitz on my CV would be cool.
