Nice demo. Loosely related: I have mixed feelings about Chrome 'pushing' the web forward.

This is a project made just for fun. view-transitions.chrome.dev holds some real demos you could/should take inspiration from.

View transitions are ace, they can help to improve UX. Your demos are always a great source, fan boy since scroll-timeline. I can wait until stuff will land in Firefox and up until then it's progressive enhancement.

You probably could create some awesome 90's vibe with the swipe down one... maybe with a long animation speed to resemble the old modem image loading 😅

Needs a sound effect too :-D

Oh the nostalgia vibes are hard 😊 Excellent work! I had an IE-only slide deck thing that used these (and 'behaviours', which were awful, and was written using VBScript) in 2003ish.

The good ole days where we could write VBScript in IE and have it open up the CD-ROM tray on page load 🥲

I thought you were joking, but apparently IE page transitions did exist for real.

I used to do IE polyfills all the time, but the most complex was one that converted CSS3 transforms to IE's Matrix filter. Nicely done. :-)
