Not only is this a terrible thing to say about your coworkers, it also throws the whole concept of creative collaboration into the garbage. When I go back and forth with someone like @einzbern.bsky.social on a concept or piece of art, the final result winds up better because it has both of us in it.

AI doesn't have cultural heritage or external context to draw from. It can do a reasonable facsimile of the thing you want, it can spew out other people's ideas, but it can't present an experience-based perspective, or a desire, or a need, because it doesn't have one.

I'd so much rather spend time with someone, hear their perspective and actually learn something about them and about the world we live in, vs typing exactly what I want into a field and adjusting it. I might as well be doing data entry at that point. We gotta make the most of being alive over here.

The act of creation is so fundamental to humanity that the idea of giving up the most potent part, collaboration with others, is actually revolting to me. You should never create alone, even if you're the only one actually putting pen to canvas or fingers to keyboard. We should celebrate humanity.

I have to slide in with a correction in fear that somebody doubts my origins haha, sorry!! It doesn't say anything in Georgian, 'cause Georgian doesn't use Cyrillic, is not connected to other language families and has it's own scripts, primarily მხედრული. The more you know ⭐

It's all good! I don't expect people to know about Georgia, nevermind people from across the ocean! And I got an opportunity to show a bit of its beautiful script 😌

you can discuss with LLM and fulfil some of this creative dialectic stuff but the underlying relation between humans collaborating so includes unspoken but deeply human sht like empathy, value matching, breaking bread, growing wiser together over time. The world the monsters imagining is very lonely

To clarify the thought. Spending *some of our limited time on this earth together sharing the experience of making a thing* puts such existential stakes on any creative endeavour no matter how frivolous seeming on the surface. That is what communicates to other time limited humans, it's why we care.

It's telling that not even the boosters can call the results better. They might be faster, they definitely involve fewer humans, but it's never an improved output. I don't know why anyone should be excited for fast mediocre instead of considered quality.

So it took him three weeks to come up with the concept of mountains, girl, church, and oh the girl is starving. Easy to imagine this guy was never easy to work with. Lol. Anyway. Collaborating is one of the biggest joys of human life. A person who *wants* to get rid of that is a ghoul to me

Yeah, sounds like if he has his timeline correct he's talking about finished concept pieces, and if they're at that stage they should've been sorting all those kinds of details a lot earlier with sketches!

Not only does collaboration improve art, but having to fill in the gaps with your imagination as you wait lets you see all the ways your players will do the same. I look to the original FF7 so often in these conversations, because it was so suggestive of bigger things it didn't need to show.

If you're not finding those places as you design, if you aren't testing out different ideas in the back of your head because A.I. placeholds, then you won't see where players will enjoy the same creative experience. You could play every note on every beat in a band, but it wouldn't mean anything.

What isn't there makes a piece of art just as much as what is, and if you never have the experience of imagining what fills in the gaps during design, you'll never connect to where your game evokes and excites your players' imagination in doing the same.
