OPEN FOR WORK.
Been in games and freelance for ~14 years now. I'm a skilled pixel artist, illustrator, graphic designer, storyboarder, who can also do some animation and simple 3D work. I've got experience in overseeing game projects from beginning to ship. Looking for work! Portfolio..☞ jjsignal.com _:(´ཀ`」 ∠):_
I think maybe the coolest thing in Mother of Tears to me was an incredibly brief moment with an alchemist and how their tools function. That was sick as hell.
In case you missed it, I've spent October working on a cozy Halloween walking sim set in an endless suburban neighborhood. I'm putting some finishing touches on it and, with any luck, I'll actually get it out before the end of the month.

Having a light work night. Craving more Tales from the Darkside, and having an itch for Are You Afraid of the Dark. The first episode dropped a very Canadian "sorry." The Jack-o'-lantern is now illuminated for the last Halloween week. Perhaps the scariest thing is how fast this month has gone by.
On this day in 1999, Cartoon Network aired a 24-hour Scooby-Doo marathon for Halloween. The marathon was filled with little clips between episodes parodying THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT which had been released in theaters just a few a few months earlier. Link below for the first 12hs of the marathon.
Watching Ghost Adventures again and I got onto the second episode of season 19, "Ogden Possession." I noticed the wife wearing a cute spooky outfit for the episode (a shirt with bones), and then the allegedly possessed dad was brought in. It was supposed to be emotional. I blurted, "FUCK OFF!!"
HummingBirdSoft's visual class guide for its Record of Lodoss War game for PC-9801. What will a human, a half-elf, and an elf look like as a variety of classes, including shaman, priest, warrior, and knight?

An OMNI cover previewed in Germany's RUN 'zine (Feb '85) featuring artwork by Hajime Sorayama that may have made it out only to non-English editions.
The issue is dated January 1985, but archived versions of the English edition have a different cover.
Watching Sightings while doing some late night work. I loved the ghosts special. Sightings was basically the "Oops All Paranormal!" version of Unsolved Mysteries, which started dipping their toes into paranormal mysteries going into the 90s (Sightings began around 1991).
Anyway, my parents and I went through it frame by frame. Eventually we saw something. In all that scrambled mess there was something that kinda looked like a face! Not too convincing, but it had no eyes and an open mouth. Unnerved, we passed it off as something we wanted to see in the abstract blue.
Man lives in the sunlit world of what he believes to be reality. But, there is, unseen by most, an underworld. A place that is just as real, but not as brightly lit...

This fascinated me as a kid. I asked my parents to pull out the camcorder and set it up in the living room and pointed it at the screen on the video output channel to create the tunnel effect and hit record. We let it run for about 30 minutes I think? And then would study the frames later...
I was thrilled. I enjoyed doing ghost photography in graveyards as a kid, too. Though I was excited to see the outcome of this recording, we were a little creeped out by the setup. The screen was a blue swirling infinity portal. I knew why, but it still felt creepy...

This special would pop up into the late 90s around this time. At the tail end of it was brief mention of a man who was searching for the ghost of his daughter through Paranormal Video Phenomenon (PVP). Pointing his camera at a channel displaying what it's looking at, creating an infinity effect...
I bought an Xbox 360 so I could play Mass Effect specifically. Popped my copy in and started the character creation and fooled around with it for a while. Satisfied, I started the game and the game glitched out. Resetting, the 360 boot glitched. A red ring appeared on the power button. I laughed.
It was the most anticipated game for me at the time. I wanted something with a cool conversation system and fancy graphics! Some pals at Game Crazy took care of me and let me trade in my out of warranty 360 for one of the Falcon? Maybe Jasper? Updates. This time I stuck with default male Shepard.
I'm not entirely sure why, I know people liked femshep more for her performance, and I would agree that it's better, but I found male Shepard kind of awkward in a way I found charming. Anyway I never finished the game, but a friend beat it twice at my place, and I was satisfied enough by that.
Part of my literal job is to fly out to physical game studios to rescue and recover historical materials that might be endangered and put them in a permanent archive. @gamehistoryorg.bsky.social is a 501(c)3 publicly funded to do that, my DMs are open, and I'm free for the next couple weeks...

I'm on the next part of Silent Hill: Townfall and I'm wondering why I need a key to open a sliding door to get OUT of a house? It's a bit of an immediate Fuck You moment in not a funny haha way, but in a The More You Think About It, The More Frustrating The Thought Gets kinda way.
I think my favorite part about Fighting Vipers is how everyone sounds like a really heavy robot when they land on the ground after jumping or get knocked down.
Dig! Dig! Dino! is going to be part of Steam's #NextFest tomorrow.
This is a port of the game that launched on playdate's Season 2 and it was a fan favorite!
Demo is already up if you are curious!

It's NES day, and also my 10th wedding anniversary. No I did not plan it that way. If you wanna get me a gift, all I want is for you to watch this if you haven't, it took me 15 years to make.
41 years ago today* the Nintendo Entertainment System was introduced, in a wild, risky, and completely unlikely way. If you haven't seen our documentary yet, put aside 45 minutes and see the NES as you never have before.
*We can't substantiate this date, It's Complicated but probably correct(ish)
Very distinct memory. That song really stuck with me as a little kid. I also think about this when I remember the Jetsons Movie equivalent, and vice versa. A very "It's the 90s, now. We're not old fashioned anymore!" version. Very good.
