China’s first AI-generated theatrical feature has flopped, earning just $181,000 in its first weekend. By contrast, the scrappy ‘Niu Lai’ turned its crude animation into a viral attraction, grossing nearly $10 million a couple of months ago. www.cartoonbrew.com/box-office-r...

The reason establishment bootlickers are so rabidly anti-trans is that they read someone seeking that sort of self-determination as a fundamental challenge of innate to them hierarchies of power. In sacrificing trans people they signal that they are protecting the world as it has been and should be.

That is the only way the lives of such a miniscule part of the population can become a lightning rod around which such a culture war is raging. Conservative minds are saying 'if this, then what?' and signalling their consensus that the world must not fundamentally change, but only be managed.

this exact sequence in DDP is one of those moment of apotheosis in the culture. This is where something is perfected for the first time, a genre - the first genre of games, in fact - reconfigures into a final form

Man, thank god Lula won in Brazil. Hopefully midterms will also spell the political death of Trump. Oh god whether you exist or not grace us with your mercy.

@gabrielzucman.bsky.social: So let met get that straight: paying a wealth tax is impossible (“billionaires have no liquidity”, “it would be taxing unrealized gains”, “their wealth is virtual”) but one man paying half a billion to influence elections is possible. Did I understand well?

Competition in a truly enlightened world is for sublimation like sports or games. When we structure our real world on economic competition where the loser can often at the end of the line suffer impoverishment, erasure, and death, we end up with an oligarchy of monsters overseeing our extinction.

Extremely impressive unprompted self-own. Stuff that can only make sense if you consider the intensely incandescent hatred for games and players the heads of this org must hold.

Water tiles dusted. 👊 (+ many other revisions not pictured) Here's a peak at some of the new river & coast tiles. Had big momentum loss with an apartment-move followed by other happenings, and took some mega willpower to resume these water tiles which had been a big pain. Moving on!
