so we had other work done to our step concrete and they accidentally got a sealant spray on our door and offered to fix it / paint over it, and at that point I asked if we could pick the colour yellow is sort of arbitrary, but comes up a lot in californian midmodernism

As a yellow glasses wearer I am an expert on yellow and you will be best served by the middle one. Left is brightest and prettiest but will not look good after use, right is too orange to be pretty.

If I ever own a house I’m making the front door yellow so fast. Probably a bit softer than mid century but not pale enough to not be obviously yellow
