... and second, join us on *our next open call* on Monday, October 26th, at 9am west coast time, to talk about the feeds, how to help the atmosphere make sense of the night, and how curator-driven feeds can improve social experiences in breaking news events:
truly impressive data visualization here, i can clearly read everything no problem! \s anyway i should finish and publish tangled.org/byarielm.fyi... so people can maybe one day make usable graphs
tWiTtEr iS bAcK … down to 18% of nationwide usage this year from 21% last year, appropriately tied with Nextdoor www.pewresearch.org/internet/fac...
if there was a workshop to help open science projects / science-related apps build on #atproto, add atmospheric features, or migrate to atproto at @atmosphereconf.org, which of you #atdevs would be interested in helping and lending your expertise? this is a spit-ball-still-formulating idea so, 🫡
Happy Monday, ATScience x IOSP crew is meeting Wednesday and I’ll be bring this up, so drop a comment or DM or @germnetwork.com me if you’re interested. If we go forward with this I’ll group chat y’all or smth and we can chat more directly. 👋

It’s Monday, do you know someone who wishes they could edit their posts and have a companion cat, dog, or even a pixelated fox? Tell them to join @mu.social. Keep you Bluesky account, all your posts, feeds and followers. Keep the Bluesky app too if you want!
lol finally getting around to improving the @proto feed and i had to adjust the regex so links to @pds.dad posts aren't included *just* bc they have `pds` in them. 😅 in other news, you can get a daily summary of the top 25 posts via @cocore.dev below. and it's using the feed gym to play w sorting.
good morning i’m here to solve all bsky’s problems. tldr: 1. help existing users find new users to converse with and vice versa 2. make creating and finding feeds, lists, and starter packs easier 3. get someone who wants to rebuild trust re: moderation & AI for comms cuz yikes 4. deal w the spam

At the end of #IOSP2026 we did a round of "what are you excited for?" It was great to hear one of the participants say "my new @aster.id !" Let's do this!!
This call for proposals includes #ATScience presentations! If you’re not sure if you should be in one of the main tracks or the science one, select the “Other / unknown” when submitting.
The Call for Presentations (CFP) is now open for @atmosphereconf.org We're looking forward to seeing your great submissions!

yet another example of scientists vibing better ways to navigating conferences because the current system is trash. we (atproto) have a real surface here if we can get a cohesive solution into the hands of conference attendees and organizer #atdev @atproto.science

cc @gui.do @mariaa.bsky.social @woody.fm @ronentk.me @richferro.com and even @essentialrandom.bsky.social (cuz ur beautiful atmoco work) - i know many of you already thinking about conferences. we should really think about a WG to coordinate on this vs scattered convos about it ;)
it was @graze.social and i come bearing proof for all to witness
What's the app or experience that you had that made the Atmosphere click for you? Was there something in particular that helped you realize what an opportunity it is?
If you’ve seen me trying not to reveal what I’ve been working on the last few months, well, here it is 🎉 Our first big offering - aside from Atmosphere account hosting - is personal websites for researchers! Drop your must-haves, preferences, ideas, or questions about personal/prof sites below 🧪🧬💻
The modern research ecosystem of online tools and communities is controlled by for-profit companies. But we think that researchers should be the priority - not the product. So, we're announcing Aster ID: not-for-profit Atmosphere account hosting for researchers.
Really excited for the future of science and research, bringing open science to more people via the open web. 🧪

Thrilled that Aster.id has launched, and very happy for the Modal Foundation to be supporting in an incubation role. modalfoundation.leaflet.pub/3mwqgvxl5a22a

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT please fix your markdown files, i should be able to read and edit them in plain text not just when rendered <3
Starting my PhD / applying to it even a year later would have completely changed it. Disability makes participating in science harder - physical, mentally, financially, socially - but we need their unique insights to make meaningful change.
This is an old post, but as I prepare for my program to come to an end, I have been reflecting on what diversity supplements mean for disabled scientists (a thread): 1/
this is absolutely bananas (cool, good, wow, wow)
Brilliat new paper : The brain is two separate organs that develop in parallel One organ is for controlling breathing, temperature, heart function, and the other organ is for thinking. They form separately and then join together during development 🧪 www.nature.com/articles/s41...
I've been experimenting with this for my only pics and only text feeds, which are two of my favorites! Will share when they're ready 😇
Your feed, their way! Feeds have always been one list, same for everybody who opens it. Today that changes - we've rebuilt feed ordering around layers, and any layer can be tuned to the person reading. Same feed, a different page for every reader. Live now for all feeds!
