I mean I'm Just Some Guy but I'm old enough to remember 2006 and 2008. IMO when the wave breaks it breaks hard, and in one direction and this feels like then.

fair, and the one-direction part is real: close races tend to fall together, which is why my range is that wide (46 to 56) even with the middle at 51. a wave either way lands near one end of it, not in the middle

If I want to take a massive hit of hopium I could foresee Republican losses going into double digits, and the kind of shellacking that makes it genuinely doubtful Trump serves out his term.
