David Quinn now amplifying scientific racists with a dash of his own bigotry. (Needless to say there are a ton of reasons for the outcome of said chart that Quinn is too stupid to anticipate.)

When Bolsonaro redux looked inevitable a lot of Americans commented that at least it showed they weren't uniquely mad, politically speaking. This doesn't prove they are, but it does show they still need to learn the game as it is currently is "team fascist vs team everyone else."

I was having conversations with journalists just a few months ago about whether democracy was doomed. Look at this year: Orban defeated. Vukic defeated. Bolsonaro Jr defeated. Trump heading to likely defeat in midterms. That’s the beauty of democracy. Voters can respond. Don’t count it out yet.

Famously honest Elon Musk.

Musk said he restricted Starlink in Ukraine- causing fast moving drones to lose connectivity - and that he had every right to do so because of some terms of service or contract that he didn't show us. (He didn't address suddenly doing this with no warning to Kyiv.) www.cnbc.com/2026/10/24/u...

Listened to a young French protester on the news last night talking about how worried he was about the rise of Le Pen, then declaring he was for LFI, the one party guaranteed to lose massively to them.

In addition to everything Juan Linz said, the best thing about parliamentary systems is that if an obviously stupid and insane person somehow becomes PM they can be quickly removed before the damage they do becomes irreversible.

Hot take -Mass Effect worked very well as a trilogy with a story that had a natural conclusion and should have ended at that point. Any sequel was going to suffer from the challenge of what to do next, to which there was never a satisfactory answer.

Can confirm that this is a real trailer of the Mass Effect game that BioWare was developing up until its closure yesterday www.reddit.com/r/masseffect...

Everyone involved with implementing this policy, from Rubio on down, should be imprisoned for years.

In November, Dems will likely win big. Liberals will feel relieved. In 2028, a milquetoast corporate Democrat will win the presidency, spend 4 years maintaining what Trump did as liberals go back to brunch. Then, in 2032, as life keeps getting worse, we’ll get something like President T Carlson.

"Sally Rooney is not a terrorist, she's just someone who asked her publisher and their banks to send money to a violent protest group from the safety of another country to burnish her radical cred and pose as a martyr when they inevitably said no."

A decision made by a ketamine addled billionaire being able to cut the knees out from an allied country is a pretty clear sign of oligarchy and just one of many reasons "grinding Elon Musk into the dirt and ensuring he dies penniless in a cage" must be a core Democratic policy going forward.

I don't have several people on a full time payroll to determine my diet and exercise routine, as well as the degree to which I can be dehydrated to look maximally jacked for my shirtless scene in a movie and/or scheduled photoshoot.

The GOP rushing to protect gun manufacturers every time this happens is one of the phenomenon that made me realise they weren't just not my cup of tea politically, or even just unpleasant - they're a profoundly evil and morally degenerate party.

Andrew Graham 🗣️@andegraham.bsky.social

School shootings being allowed to persist is a very under-discussed political reality shaping why my generation is more cognizant of the social contract being in tatters. You let us get ritually murdered in school and didn't lift a finger, what other conclusion should I arrive at?

It's a measure of how worthless the American press is that they're still quoting Cheung instead of just refusing to seek comment from him on account of his blatant unprofessional assholery.

One would be good and the other would be bad because one cause is good and the other is bad. We are not in the realm of procedural justice concerns anymore, liberalism is not obligated to be neutral on the question of its own existence.

People demanding Zuck be hauled before Congress to explain why No Kings insta was suspended... how would you feel if MAGA GOP hauled MSNow execs to explain why they covered Trump the way they do? Both are editorial choices protected by the First Amendment. If this annoys you...

Rubio is lying of course, and like every other administration official we should presume that he's lying at all times.

Transcript of Marco Rubio's remarks yesterday on Starshield: QUESTION: On Starshield, what's going on? Because Elon Musk said it's up to the President. SECRETARY RUBIO: Well, Starshield or Starlink? QUESTION: Well, just both.

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

Call me a pessimist but no, I do not think that the presence of racism in the racism party is going to threaten their racist leader who has built his career on appealing to racists.

No, the fact that Trump surrounds himself with women who routinely mutilate themselves into hideous grotesques to try and remain attractive to the ageing rich scumbags they've married is pretty central to the political raptors of our age.

Best for Britain@bestforbritain.org

Instead of asking valid questions about the appointment in an effort to hold Trump’s government accountable, social media users decided to go for something that requires far less critical thinking: calling a woman ‘ugly’. https://bestforbritain.substack.com/p/beauty-and-the-beast-why-how-we-talk

Once again we're getting a "Musk insisted on putting lots of stupid shit in the car because he's an idiot" product and the stock is going up because the financial class are reprehensible morons.

Do these people, Elon Musk and his cronies, ever drive on regular roads? There is a reason why Formula 1 banned ground effect in the early 80s. At high speed, a piece of trash or a pebble can easily damage the fans and the suction will be reduced in an instance, causing car to go airborne then crash

Every time this has happened and there has been any whiff of political action to prevent it the Republicans have rushed to defend the gun lobby and issued Rube Goldberg counter proposals, without any real political cost. A sign of a morally degenerate society.

Senator Patty Murray@murray.senate.gov

This is heartbreaking. Kids are being killed in class. And it's been 13 years since the Sandy Hook shooting. It's way past time for Congress to pass gun safety reforms. My heart goes out to every family suffering with a loss tonight. Our kids deserve better.

This is why I'm not a free speech absolutist. Writing something this absurd should be subject to some kind of legal sanction. Not prison, but maybe some kind of permanent bureaucratic recognition that you are a bad faith actor.

i think it is fun when people write things that are just totally in tension with easily observable reality. like, this is “charlie brown had hoes” levels of nonsense: “in his first term Trump largely respected the cultural consensus of the Obama years.” www.compactmag.com/article/how-...
