This is a small thing, but a chicken pox vaccine. I never had chicken pox when I was a kid. Being able to get a vaccine, and not have to worry about getting it from my kids was huge

As a retired teacher, I remember that we sadly had a parent die from complications after catching chickenpox from their young child.

My mom got it when I did (she was 25), and I think it was pretty brutal.

I had chicken pox as a child on Halloween and had to stay home from trick or treating. As an adult, chicken pox puts you at danger for shingles. I got the vaccine for that. It wasn't pleasant, but shingles is sooo painful.

Pretty shocked you were able to avoid it as a kid! Before the vaccine, it just seemed like something we all had to go through, and I had never heard of the chicken pox parties people were having until adulthood.

I only had two blisters and no fever when I got it in 2nd grade. When my kids got it I was really worried if I had immunity....this was just before the vax was released. And Shingrix for we oldsters.

Yeah, I grew up thinking I never had it as a kid because o couldn’t remember. Then I got shingles. Ouch.
