@catsofyore.bsky.social There´re other diseases that cats can get when they go outside, plus the traffic, plus poison that´s laid out on purpose in meat balls or so, and there´re other subhumans who abuse outdoor cats, too. So please keep your cats indoors only people, wherever you may live. 😱😱😱

Not good! 😡

Yes, although Germany´s rabies-free rabies shots are still recommended for cats and dogs here, especially if people travel to other European countries with their pets. And vaccines against other diseases are also still recommended and available for cats and dogs. Also if the cats´re indoors.

Getting some "so you hate waffles" replies?

What shots do you recommend? I'm currently just doing rabies.

I have entirely indoor Persians and that little fellow might just slip out the door. He wants a squirrel for himself you see. Annual vaccinations early November…( little pesker )

Yes, there are shots for rabies. But there is no shot for getting mauled to death by a rabid animal.

There is a rabies vaccination for cats, yes. So keep them indoors and keep all their vaccinations up to date. (There are lethal diseases for which there are no vaccines, like FIV, avian flu, and very rare but not impossible: bubonic plague. Certain countries have FIV vaccines but the US doesn't.)

My grandmother's brother died of rabies. In this country. My father endured the rabies protocol as a five year old. It's a brutal disease.

Unfortunately, rabies can still be transmitted even to indoor cats via any open window or door or screen. That is why vets recommend all cats and dogs be vaccinated.

1. People need need to stop dumping their cats. 2. We need more shelters, preferably no-kill shelters, but I guess is the funding for that is gone too. 3. Vaccinate all your cats AND dogs. There are plenty of dogs running loose in my neighborhood.

“Is Rabies Making a Comeback?” Headline from Hell.

Oh goodie. Another present.

?….

Oh I can't vaccinate my dog or cat, they might get autism! Bitch, it's a dog and/or cat, it's autistic by nature. A small jab isn't gonna make them any worse then they already are.

At the age of 74 I often wonder where common sense and decency were buried by our government. With a degree in environmental health this is just idiocy. Our pets and people were safer years ago. Our cats lived long happy lives inside. 😻💕
