Yup. The three Dem vacancies really just meant 2 Republicans got a pass to not vote for the bill. If there had been 215 Dems the final vote would’ve been 216 -215, 217-216 or 218-217. It’s still horrible that they have those vacancies, of course.

No, it's true because 220 > 215. Doesn't matter if that 215 is full of 35 year olds or 85 year olds. The "Democrats" actually to blame are the voters who decided that they couldn't vote for a Black woman for whatever imaginary reason they thought mattered more than Medicare and medicaid.

And you do understand the House Republicans are almost exactly the same median age as the House Democrats, right? It has nothing to do with age, or cancer, or messaging, or even policy. It has to do with math. Voters are getting exactly what they wanted, a Republican controlled government.

None of them will. You don't understand. They don't care if they kill their voters because the remaining ones will shoot their own families before voting for anyone with anything other than an R after their name. The only thing they fear is a primary.

And Mike Johnson would have put pressure on the GOP holdouts to cave and vote yes on the bill. It's unfortunate, but that's the way it is sometimes. Even with public pressure it seemed like that didn't move the needle on the GOP to vote no...
