I love this painting but I never noticed that there’s a houseplant in the crane’s cab

surprisingly similar setup to modern port crane cab videos i've watched. they have a couple cameras for places they couldn't see otherwise, the levers are joysticks now. don't remember if the guy had a potted plant. but doesn't seem that different otherwise

Modern cranes tend to have similar layout, but controls are by-wire with joysticks needing a comparatively light touch. This is a Soviet era crane. No such luxuries here. These levers are likely linked mechanically to crane's transmission, handling more like controls of an old crawler tractor.
