Fun fact: the Kawasaki C-2 has a higher thrust-to-weight ratio (~0.38 at MTOW) than the F-100 Super Sabre (~0.3–0.33). A military transport out-muscling a 1950s supersonic fighter on raw power says a lot about how far jets have come.

speaking of Japanese military aircraft, i've always liked the look of the Kawasaki P-1 - and its odd trick of being much bigger than you think it is (it's the cockpit windows, they're gigantic and this throws off the proportions)
