Rurals hospitals that manage to survive will have to do so by cutting services. Expect Rural parents to be to have to drive 100s of miles to find a maternity ward. And then there is the death. Expect to see around 2000+ excess deaths annually. 145,000 preventable hospitalizations.

Unfortunately for Republicans, providers are making plans for 2027. That means providers aren’t being hired, office leases not renewed, facilities are being closed. As a physician who dealt with a hospital closing, physicians were decreasing coverage before the hospital closed.

Of course, if the Dems retake Congress, the Repigs will blame it on them.

Hopefully the Dems are a big enough majority to change that.
