Eby was down nine MLAs and feared the Cons calling a confidence vote, so instead of quietly encouraging the MIA party-members to step down in twos and threes so they could have by-elections, he really thought he could run the table. Hubris manifest.

The Conservatives will end the night fairly close to the 900,000 or so votes they got in 2024. The NDP will go from just under 950,000 votes in 2024 to less than 700,000 this time. Turnout was down β€” but how much of it was demotivated 2017-2024 NDP voters who stayed home is a massive question.

Every once in a while a place needs to remind itself how much Conservatives suck. You would think people could just look elsewhere for the lesson, but sadly it doesn't seem so and it's our turn to re learn the lesson

The problem is the only reason I've had only four years of a provincial government that represented me was that the PCs broke into two parties, splitting the vote. Unless there's another fracture, I have no faith in this province doing the correct thing despite Smith's abysmal leadership.

People so sick of Eby. He suffers from classic arrogance and then foot in mouth disease. Would say anything to get elected. Bad bad move to call an election after 2 years. Can’t do anything now. Out with inept and in withβ€¦πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
