My first site had two framesets: left one for navigation (with Java applets for animation) and right one for content. Hosted on AOL's Instapages IIRC.

Just think about how modern sites have to work so hard to preserve sidebar scroll position, and we just had that for free in like 1994.

I wasn't there for frame but my student job was to use Dreamweaver's Word HTML clean up tool to fix accessibility issues for hundreds of pages of content made with table, inline styles and I also deleted a bunch of <markee> and <font>

<marqee>hello world</marquee> <blink>welcome</blink>

Oh yeah just slap a clearfix on that and pray.

It has been like 5 years since I needed clear: both; and I'm so thankful for it
