In 2015, Jessica Jones was my entry point into Marvel. Not Avengers, not Iron Man - Jessica. Because she felt REAL. Less polished. More authentic. The Punisher caught me two years later and kept it going. (We don't talk about Defenders, please.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1Mq...

I migrated to NanoClaw this weekend, implemented multi-topic support with separated containers, and created a menubar app to keep an eye on memory pressure and container status. I like it. 😎

I had a medium-sized crisis when "Netflix Marvel" was hugely ignored in newer Marvel productions - and was EUPHORIC when it became canon again. Seeing Matt, Frank, and Jessica back in this BANGER of a Born Again got me right back into Marvel. 🥰

As Laravel's friendly hacker, I feel it is my duty to inform everyone that Laravel v11 is no longer supported! 😱 ❌ Bug fixes (they stopped 6 months ago) ❌ Security fixes (they stop today!) Have you upgraded yet? laravel.com/docs/release... #Laravel

I wanted to run my first half marathon tomorrow in Cambridge. A place I always wanted to visit, and of course, to see my great friend @zuzana_kunckova again. After that, talk about one of my favorite topics, embeddings, at the Laravel London Meetup. The running part isn't going to happen.

What I want you to take from this: YES. Make progress. Get moving. Find a sport that you love. Push your mind, body, and boundaries. But don't let the pushing from your ego (or Strava!) get too loud. If you don't know how yet, learn to LISTEN to your body. You only have one.

I am young (medically speaking). No family risk factors, no smoking, no drinking; moving a lot. You always think "ahh, not me!" - until it *is* you.

Running felt… different. Heavier. Progress wasn't what it used to be. No pain or anything, just… different. I know getting fit after a serious illness takes time, and everybody gets older, but this… was not normal.

So I trusted my intuition about my body (thanks, yoga, therapy, and especially running) and went to my lung doctor, who I trust. And he took me seriously. Fast forward to today.

Earlier this week, I had a lung scintigraphy. Turns out, I have a pulmonary embolism - probably caused by, or causing, my pneumonia about a year ago. No running anymore, for quite some time now. How did I find out that I have this?

I'd like to state that for generic white men PHP developers, supporting @larabelles.com is incredibly rewarding. I got my career handed to me on a plate, why not have a crack at making someone else's career better? X

If you are heading to Laracon EU, join us at a mini @larabelles.com meetup, sponsored by @geocod.io! Come connect, meet new friends, and celebrate being part of our amazing community. ❤️ See you there!

Don't want to give AI agents SSH access? Tinkerwell 5.11.0 exports your debugging output with LLM-ready context. ⌨️ Oh, and you can now connect through bastion hosts too. Proxy Jump support is here, for those secret hidden servers. 🥷

age verification? I remember when we switched from <frame>-based web design to <table>-based web design (and then later to CSS-based web design).

AI for coding is cool, but nothing beats talking to my local assistant while walking the dog and coming home to a clean board. Tasks I mention become cards. Details get their own linked notes. Brain dump → structured board. Perfect for the unhinged chaos brain ✨

I'm so happy about the reactions and people sharing their #TinkerwellWrapped ❤️ I had so much fun building it! My stats are a bit skewed from dev testing, so I'm curious - what persona did you get? Figuring those out was my favorite part!

Tinkerwell 5.7.0 is here! 🥳 The last big release of the year brings Laravel Cloud support and #TinkerwellWrapped - can't wait to see yours! According to Tinkerwell, I am a Query Goblin. I speak fluent Eloquent and my queries have queries. 😎

The PHP 8.5 release is only a week away! 🤩 RC4 is already available in Laravel Herd - perfect time to explore what’s new (especially that new pipe operator 👀).

I'm off for two weeks! Time to recharge and step back from code (as much as I manage to 🙃) Looking forward to nice autumn runs, lots of cozy dog cuddles and *a lot* of time in Dune Awakening. The spice must flow!

I'm wayyy behind on catching up with my podcasts, but this episode jumps right to the start of the queue! 🥰

“There's always going to be a competitive advantage in actually listening to customers.”

Ian Landsman@ianlandsman.com

This is part of the reason AI customer service is unlikely to completely take over. There's always going to be a competitive advantage in actually listening to customers. For some situations, that's not important (or the co. doesn't care), but often it still is. seths.blog/2025/09/to-b...

Question for women / trans / non-binary people only: Have you ever gone to a conference where you didn't know anyone AND weren't a sponsor or a speaker? If you haven't, would you? (Sorry, cis men. I'm going to go ahead and take a wild guess that you would have minimal reservations about this.)
