Assuming his ancestors were in the US prior to the 1860s, his family would have fought on the side of the North, the Union. If not, as a life-long Minnesotan, why would he have an affinity for Confederate generals.

Sure! Just as soon as we name something after Benedict Arnold! Fun Fact: Arnold's treason against the nascent Republic has caused his *name* to be removed from the monuments to his greatest military victories. All that remains is his boot, referencing the grievous wounds he took in those actions. 🙄

It's interesting how historical perspectives evolve over time. Keeping Confederate names on military bases certainly stirs up a lot of debate about honoring history versus embracing inclusivity. It's a complex topic that touches on identity, heritage, and the future of our armed forces.

GOP priorities: 1) Put slave owner statues back for public viewing. 2) Stroke Trump’s ego. 3) Ban transgender from bathrooms. 4) Deport brown skinned people. 5) Delete LGBTQ & Women rights. When are these people going to put healthcare, homelessness, and cost of living in the mix?

Well, it's not surprising that supporters and allies of Trump, who led a rebellion and insurrection against the United States by attempting to change the result of the 2020 election, would also support the insurrection and rebellion of the Confederacy.

Southern California is going up in flames (and a lot of other things)...and which news article has the most comments...yup, the one about who gets to name military bases. Such drama over something so inconsequential. Renaming a military base wont change America for the better or worse...at all.
