The "by a non-sherpa guide" part of this points to how shameful it is that this man gets any press at all when there are others who have done it more often. The Guinness Book of World Records doesn't have a separate list of white or rich people who broke a record.

An incredible personal feat. But the true record belongs to a sherpa. Don't qualify them out. Seems very disrespectful. Almost like a DEI trophy for rich white people. Very few would even get near the summit without sherpas. Very few of us get anywhere without the aid of the humble working class.

“By a non Sherpa guide” means he didn’t break any records. He went up 19 times and that’s a pretty significant feat for someone not from the area but records shouldn’t have asterisks on them. You either broke the record or you didn’t.
