@literaryhub.bsky.social Fuck off with this nonsense. People do what they want to do. They don't do what they don't want to do. People have moral agency. Fascist racists are fascist racists because they want to be, not because anyone "made them" or because democracy was drunk.

A masterful and nauseating summary of where we are.
My second essay on how under Trump we’ve already gotten used to a level of fascism, authoritarianism, and corruption that would be unthinkable to us just years ago. Today: The corruption of the Justice Dept and *EIGHT* scandals on par with Watergate: www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/trump-s-ty...

I've never given any money in response to a text or email. I worry about scam organizations and I won't support the paid fundraising. Go directly to the candidates website or find someone like @samwang.bsky.social to find some good analysis of where your money will do the most good.

Love to see them already thinking along these lines, though I'm curious how this will play out against an administration that will walk right into a government shutdown before signing budget/appropriations bills it doesn't like
NEWS --> Dems are planning novel ways to wield power of the purse against Trump's corrupt prosecutions of critics like Ilhan Omar if they win House. Reps Pramila Jayapal and Jamie Raskin tell me a range of aggressive tactics will be deployed. Details in my new piece: newrepublic.com/article/2171...

As predicted by VoteMaximizer.org, this is shaping up to be the most competitive race in the state. Vote Maximizer - an Electoral Innovation Lab joint!
Like I've been saying, the genuinely close race in New Jersey isn't NJ-7, it's NJ-2. See VoteMaximizer.org - your greatest leverage is to get out the vote in south Jersey for Mullock v. Van Drew. *Not* Kean v. Bennett.
Look, I don’t think Van Drew is going down in NJ-02, but a 700 vote Democratic margin in the first day of early voting, combined wi5 a 10K Dem margin in the VBM is starting to change my mind. Last year, when Sherrill won in a blow out, Republicans were ahead in the early voting here.

More and more people are saying it.
Restoring constitutional democracy after we fix the Supreme Court should entail invalidating Trump’s entire term because the 14th Amendment plainly disqualifies insurrectionists from public office. The rule of law can’t survive when a tyrant can immunize all of his minions from federal prosecution
At last a small bit of good news. it’s possible to preserve public health. But we have to fight for every inch. In 2027, let’s pressure Congress to use all its powers to stop this reckless force of malevolence, RFK Jr.
This week, one of RFK Jr.'s most malevolent plots was finally brought to a halt. defector.com/the-u-s-fund...

I think this is the cleanest argument and has the bonus of allowing us to declare a bunch of other garbage invalid, though I don’t think you can get even a packed court to go for it but as a matter of actual letter of law Robert is right, he’s disqualified
The law IS clear, that Trump is not the president
