While the money is pretty high, so is the talent level.

Have you seen Trea play lately?

Jesus was 33, he had a great 33 as I recall

He literally died

Obscene money to play a game.....how much money does someone need? I just don't get it. 🫤

We watch, we pay, they make money

Maybe they can hire Stearns and make things worse.

Schwarber and Harper are still OK, they are what they are. Too much money, yes, but what's done is done. Nola, IMHO, is still serviceable as a #4 or #5, and you still owe him 2 yrs. at big $. Turner is the issue. He's just playing an average SS, and has poor plate discipline. Must replace.

Trea Turner is well below an average shortstop, he’s arguably the worst shortstop overall in the league. His range is terrible, his bat is useless and he’s aging out of his speed. Underselling it a little imho

I didn't have the space to write a complete eval of him. Bottom line is Phils need to replace him. I believe they have a hot SS prospect coming up, FWIW. Dealing with these highly paid aging stars under contract AND important FAs is tricky to say the least, good luck Dave D. and Preston M.

Harper stands out in this group for having helped a team win a World Series. He did so by leaving the Washington Nationals, who won it all the following season.

So what? That's how baseball works

I think the point is that they blew their window, and are at the point in a long contract where they are going to be eating it, without gaining a ring out of it
