i swear to god if kavi had not described this to me in real life I would have assumed this was a bit making fun of how useless the mayor of LA is. Like, YOU CHOSE TO PUBLISH THIS VIDEO! YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT! YOU COULD HAVE COME BACK THE NEXT DAY AND SHOWED THE POTHOLE BEING FILLED IN!!

"Can you please fix this pothole?" "No, but we can put up a no parking sign!" THAT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM! "Hopefully this car will move and then we can fix the problem tomorrow" is not a winning message! The whole point of these feel-good social media bits is to show problems *being fixed*!

The pothole has been there for a long time, you've had plenty of chances to fix it, but didn't. Who says you're actually going to fix it this time? Is that crew going to show up tomorrow? If the car doesn't move, are you actually going to tow it, or are you just going to leave it and forget it?

How do you know the length of time it's been there? How do you know they've had plenty of chances? Do you have some intimate knowledge of how many workers they have versus the number of jobs that need doing?

In any case they could've waited a day on the video and showed the pothole actually having been fixed.

Sure. But while they're waiting for the space to be vacated to work on it, people might get impatient and think they're ignoring it completely.

Right. This video shows them *not solving the problem that the person complained about*. I can do that just as well as the mayor of LA! Maybe they'll fix it. Maybe they won't. But they don't need to show a video of them *not fixing it*!
