CONGRESS APPROVED THE MONEY — SO WHY ARE OUR TROOPS STILL LIVING LIKE THIS? Pete Hegseth owes our troops & their families an explanation. #SupportTheTroops 🧵

That's some total AI bullshit! when I was in the service we cleaned our own toilets! We serviced our own barracks. We did everything. The truth is bad enough without you making up a bunch of bs!

Hegseth’s first defense investment was adding a make-up addition to his Pentagon office so he had his camera team lined-up.

EVERY taxpayer funded government contract should include ruinous clawback provisions and asset seizure when this kind of contract fraud is discovered.

Peteyboy should have to live like this. Instead, I'd bet this magat lives high on the hog, including maids, at the citizenry's expense.

Nearly $1.9 billion approved for military family housing, but service members & families are still dealing w/mold, sewage, failing HVAC systems, and unsafe living conditions. This isn’t one military base. It’s a systemic problem documented by the Government Accountability Office. #SupportTheTroops

🎯💯This👆🏽!!! The fact that the government would refuse to help the troops & their families unless there’s a quid pro quo arrangement for votes is beyond disgusting. Despite the lies they run on they do not support the troops, police officers, judges etc. They are opportunists & hypocrites.

BECAUSE THERE NO ACCOUNTABILITY WHATSOEVER AND THERE'S NEVER BEEN AN AUDIT. When the Congress reconvenes after the midterms they'll be voting on the NDAA...with the request to increase the DOD 'budget' by ANOTHER HALF TRILLION AMERICAN TAXPAYER DOLLARS TO 1.5 TRILLION. Let that sink in.

Pete Hegseth is a PIG and probably thinks this is normal. More worried about decorating his office than military housing issues. Some "defense secretary."

Do we seriously believe that Kegsbreath thinks health & hygiene are more important than testosterone & "ethos"? That POS thinks military readiness comes from marketing slogans applied with hair gel.

Privatization. Decades ago, military housing was maintained by Civil Engineering. But about 20-ish years ago, Congress decided that it would be more cost effective to privatize military housing. Now, if you have an issue, you contact the housing office and they paint over the mold or water damage.

Even better, when it is time to move out, any damage they haven't fixed will be charged to the servicemember. Unless you do a damn good job of documenting the damage, including the paper trail of attempts to get it fixed. Even in historical housing. Source: it happened to us.

Hurricane Matthew caused serious water damage to our almost 100 year old military housing. We called for repairs, they sent out a guy to assess the damage. He painted. We complained, saying that he did nothing to fix the leak. When it rained, we took photos of the new damage and sent a new request.

It didn't get repaired until we did our PCS walkthrough. They tried to claim we owed thousands to fix the damage. But my husband was ready with photos and emails. The next day, they sent a crew to fix the leaks in the roof. Anything to keep the money the government gives them, plus some.

The Pentagon has the largest budget in History, what are they spending it on? Evidently not the troops or their families. Why not! Sailors and Marines were starving on the ships in the Gulf while Kegsbreath blew up all the missiles. Personnel don’t need testosterone they need food and board

They're using it to find their war. Congress never approved war powers, and along with it the funding. So they are stealing money from other departments to fund their illegal war. Once the investigations begin, we will see where all the money went.

Military housing is privitized. Again taxpayer $ paying 7+ large corporations in gov contracts for building, managing and upkeep on Military housing, and starting to go for Military barracks as well. Basic housing allowance from service members pay/taxpayer $ CORVIAS profit 399M/yr on rent alone

I just hope they remember what they're fighting for when they're asked to turn the guns on their families and neighbors.

Jesus. Back in 1967, I was in basic training in Fort Jackson, SC, and we lived in wooden barracks. They were heated with coal, and we had to shovel it ourselves. We all woke up with coal dust in our nostrils. Still, we didn't live in a shithouse. All the barracks were clean. Very clean.

I lived in a condemed dorm for 8 mos. The leadership cared so little about the bldg the guys on the botton floor had a slip-n-slide in the hallway. The hvac ducts were falling thru the ceiling & bats (the giant okinawan bats) would live in the empty, top floor rms

A trillions dollar DoD budget, a Venezuelan black box oil deal with the Pentagon... zero effort to improve the living conditions of the people who are the literal force of our military 🤬

Someone or someone's in this administration is lining their pocket(s) with money earmarked for military housing. While military housing has always been quite different for officers and junior enlisted men, I don't think I've ever seen these types of issues. These living conditions are unacceptable.

😨MY GOD! It's been a while since I've been in base housing, but—THIS IS DISGUSTING/DESPICABLE...on KEGBREATH's WATCH! As a civilian, I had many family members & friends in the military who lived in base housing. I always envied their places. They WERE like a spread out of BETTER HOMES & GARDEN.😢

Totalitarian militaries are rife with corruption. Trump and the christofascists are installing a one party totalitarian system, command economy, censorship, etc. So what should expect beside the same in our military now. Along with our military becoming cannon fodder, also totalitarianism.

And yet they vote Republican overwhelmingly… (Said as a military brat) (of military father 30 yrs Navy, 15 yrs MSTS/MSC)

Because you can bet the money is stolen by Trump, his family and his allies. Some for ICE and Stephen Miller ethnic cleansing cruelty machine. Some for the military industry and vanity project ("build a golden destroyer with big guns !") And some directly in their pockets.

VOTE BLUE 💙 VOTE BLUE 💙 VOTE BLUE 💙 VOTE BLUE 💙 VOTE BLUE 💙 VOTE BLUE 💙 VOTE BLUE 💙 VOTE BLUE 💙 VOTE BLUE 💙 VOTE BLUE 💙 **BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR BALLOT, CHECK TO BE SURE IT HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED**

Hegseth needs his testosterone tested. Slovenly management is a big sign of extremely low T. Being afraid of female soldiers and afraid of black people in positions of military authority is also a sign.

Because him and his people are stealing our money! Too busy building himself a new makeup studio so he can look like a pretty princess.

This is ABUSIVE & UNACCEPTABLE! Why does the Govt IGNORE MILITARY HOUSING? They've done this for DECADES. The water at Camp Lejune was toxic for YEARS. Mold in housing is common. It's unconscionable. Our military gives everything & sacrifices much. TAKE CARE OF THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES. NOW.

If 60 Minutes were still 60 Minutes - and not the vanilla program it’s become because of Bari Weiss, this story would be right in their wheelhouse.

why does this happen? As exx military during my time WE cleaned our barracks, our vehicles and never once had someone do it for us..janitors etc. these photos only show me that the troops don't give a shit about their own environment and safety. they deserve to be sick!! Canadian, we take pride!!

The Pentagon/military hasn't passed a clean audit in years. Receiving billions of Dollars, imaging what a crooked SoD like Hegseth could make dissappear ...

Flip the military AND flip the media NOW. J6 should have been the end of MAGA. Oligarchy won instead. Jared and many dozens if not hundreds are robbing us blind! Without TANGIBLE CONSEQUENCES, it should be obvious that a lawless regime treats that as permission. Flip TODAY! Bring your soldier home.
