the far right didnt really shrink at all. The voters just spread out over more far right parties. and the centrists moved further right. This is no result to celebarate.

Some far right votes went to JA21 and FvD, which is concerning (esp the latter), but together they still make up only 27% of votes, or 30% if you include fash-adjacent BBB.

You misunderstand. The Dutch PLAN on coalitions. For every .67% of the vote, a party gets one seat in the lower house. These are the parties that got seats. It's a LOT of parties. The threshold for getting seats is very low. In many countries it's 3 or 5%. It's been this way for 100 years.

A party gets its first place finish ever and the far right party comes second. Sounds like the people are most interested in change and are picking whoever they think will bring it most reliably.

The 15,000 vote lead over Wilders is pointless. What matters now is whether D66 gets 26 or 27 seats, and whether a center-left and center-right coalition are both possible. Ironically, Jetten's job is easier if D66 gets just 26 seats, which leads more quickly to a new cabinet.
