The outrageous sanctioning of EU lawmakers and citizens in order to pressure democratically-elected European governments to change their laws shows just how intent the US government is on controlling Europeans' lives. We must go into 2026 with eyes open.

Europe will have to learn to live without the US as an ally. Not easy but necessary. Trump has another three years to destroy the relationship completely, and Vance hates the EU even more than him. It’s time to form a European Army, which Britain should join.

Definitely should move forward with this plan. We cannot be trusted. However, he and his deplorable administration will not last 3 more years. His followers are turning on him and his elected officials are starting to abandon him by leaving government. His glorious end is nigh.

Not so funny when it happens to y'all is it Europeans spent 400 years destroying the planet and anybody who got in their way, Africa and Asia started fighting back and y'all wanted the USs colonialism to save you from the proletariat. Now the US isn't so nice. Time is running out

. US Security Stratagy: "Our goal should be to help Europe correct its current trajectory." and "Cultivating resistance to Europe’s current trajectory within European nations." . Putting America (Trump) first is now very similar to Putting Russia (Putin) First. Both propose undermining Europe.

I am an American. I do not trust the Trump administration. Neither should the EU. Please know the majority of Americans feel as I do and we are working hard to change the direction of our government. Pray for us please.

The conflict isn’t really about defending free speech in a liberal sense so much as a power struggle over who governs the digital economy. Europe’s regulatory big-brother approach does risk the policing of free speech. The US response is not entirely a principled defense of speech either…

The US government has unfortunately always been extremely power-hungry, even well beyond its borders - it has zero respect for other countries' sovereignty, and countries need to start realizing this. (And this is an excellent reason why there really should be more non-US cloud service providers.)

The purpose of Trump and similar is not actually to regulate Europeans but to destroy the U.S. from the inside by destroying the ability to actually impose sanctions that are merited. Arbitrary use of them is intended to create this response. The people in charge hate regulation.

They want to do criminal business with dictators and Russia. And I am sure they are pissed that over the years they have been stymied or even jailed for it. If only they could get the our allies on their side. They already have the Russians and Chinese, etc.

Being banned from entering the USA for upholding freedom sounds like a badge of honour tbh. As “lives being ruined” for not having Alexa? You’re having a laugh…do you *honestly* think a senior official or privacy advocate would have those spy devices at home?! 🤣 Banking restrictions->workarounds

It would appear the work arounds are close to impossible. Look into Francesa Albanese and the trouble she's had trying to exist while US sanctions are on you. We need the European banks to stand up to US sanctions.

That is why Prime Minister Carney stated the old relationship was over. He wasn't saying we wouldn't be "friends" he was saying a new/different relationship would begin. Having been the Governor of the Bank of Canada (2008-2011)and then the Bank of England he has the wits to know what had to be done

No, no country can stand alone, it need allies. And Canada is also very dependent on the US for its supply chains. But it chose to suffer pain in the short term to remove the absurd liability which is the US, not only because of Trump but because the majority of Businesses and Voters chose him.

Personally, I think its about time Europe, Canada, Mexico, Latin America and others said fuck it and tell U.S. to build their fucking wall around their border, just call us when Piggy and friends are gone so we can get back to normal.

Well, many European businesses are struggling because of his tariffs. Today, I was wondering... is he weakening Europe so that if Putin decides to attack us, we don't have the means to fight back? We have been supporting Ukraine, and our military power is not in a good place..

They are organized/aligned with fascists/alt right parties everywhere via the 🇷🇺 financed Heritage Foundation and they follow the same script in each country in their goal to break up 🇪🇺 and weaken the west.

Cut out the US completely. Their money is just dirty right now. I check every label to avoid US products. It’s been a year, I haven’t died. Have I missed some products, sure. But, I miss not having to worry about being targeted by a rogue authoritarian neighbour so much more.

Just do it. Brazil's Supreme Court ordered the total blocking of nazitter (X) and other companies owned by Elon Musk in the country. The suspension was lifted only three months later, after Musk had complied with all court orders and paid the fines.

Trump didn’t get the Nobel Peace Prize. Now he has seemingly declared war on Peace. The sheer stupidity of possibly invading both Nigeria and Venezuela while trying to annex Greenland is astounding! The meetings to discuss these plans surely took place during Happy Hour.🤬

We didn't even sanction an American criminal who defected to Russia, works for Russia's military intelligence, and claims he copied the Palm Beach Police Epstein Archive. bsky.app/profile/cath...

Catherine P. Henry@catherine-p-henry.bsky.social

Is the extortionist John Mark Dougan in the Epstein files? He worked for the Palm Beach Sheriff and defected to Russia in 2016. The FBI wants him for wiretapping and extortion. He works for Russian military intelligence and claims to have the Epstein files. The EU just sanctioned him; the US didn't.

Yes and also that’s what the US does to other non-European countries all the time. You just thought you were special because you’re white and it’s happening to you now

It's beyond time for pushback against the tech bros. Just because they can write new code in order for them to profit further off of collecting our private data doesn't mean they should be allowed to. I call for strict enforced regulations against them now.

The EU needs to start retaliating and doing this back to US enablers of the Trump regime. This is the only language they understand and suddenly if Musk finds he cannot set foot in any EU country it might force a reconsideration.

The U$ can't fix itself, it does war games around the world 🌍. While the Chinese are defending the South Chinese seas. No flights over Venezuela by the U$ war games are ok. Breads & Circuses! No government is working in the U$ for its citizens. 🍞🥖 & 🎪🤡🎪 Parody or not!?!?

People notice his wars on Venezuela, Nigeria, Greenland, the US people. But now he's trying to overthrow democracy in Europe and barely a peep. While trump and his minions are still around, the only option is for (the rest of) the free world to totally disentangle from US finances, big tech, etc.

The EU has to start building its own infrastructure, built on EU software and hardware. If the US is going to abuse its position as provider of the world’s infrastructure then it’s going to lose it.

Whatever necessary. Economic decoupling at minimum but I expect a violent country like the US to escalate to violence. But our democracies cannot be subject to American interests. Questioning our nuclear weapons, sanctioning EU/UK politicians, UN/ICC staff is unacceptable and an act of war.

Cripple us economically. I hate to say it, but our weapons will ensure a military victory and then we’re all fucked. Make our people suffer economically, that’s the only way to right this ship. Violence will only solidify Mango Mussolini’s supporters. Economic hardship will bring his downfall.

American distilleries writing letters to Canada to halt boycott of American alcohol, Jim Bean halting production for 2026 due to tariffs/boycott, other distilleries closed permanently They don't seem to want to confront trump** but would rather whine to Canada and other countries to stop being mean

Not really. The US can’t even beat backward, unarmed nations on its own. There is no way the US could control Europe if it came to a fight. But you’re already threatening us with invasion, attacking with sanctions etc. so we will respond with whatever level of defence is required.

EU, lets fight back. All the ones participating in creating and executing these sanctions, get on Schengens no entry list.

What the US is really doing is preparing Yurp for future domination by Russia since it’s being given to Putin so that the US and have the whole American continent and China the entirety of Asian subcontinent and the Australian/NZ/Japanese archipelagos.

I am European, I absolutely do not justify Trump and his administration, but I want Americans to know that, contrary to what Trump claims, American Big Tech companies have enormous privileges, and maybe it's time to end this, not only in Europe but also in the US and the rest of the world.
