Square Enix is releasing so much new FFIX art prior to its birthday, it's unbearable for fans who wait for a remake. But it's also SO SO good. Toshiyuki Itahana is amazing.

This is also one of the songs where I think that Uematsu's Morricone influence shines brightest. You can play this to the "Ectasy of Gold" scene, and it works beat for beat. And yes, of course I tried it!

FF VII, VIII and IX are still some of the highest heights of game scores to date in my book, and this is a great example of why.
