See, I read all that and immediately think "I DEFINITELY will need that shovel later, so I have to get stronger, find a bigger purse, get rid of rust...."

My rebuttal: 1) if it's too heavy Laura must have the pipecleanerest arms ever 2) when has that ever stopped an adventure game protagonist 3) ditto 4) you could use it as a makeshift weapon against the murderer who's on the loose 5) ditto 6) now you're just lying, it's not rusted at all!

Exactly! The scramble to explain why an artistic flourish is not an actual point of interest the player should get hyperfocused on.
