Please stop misusing the term genocide. It has a definition. Using it demeans those who have been victims of genocide. Over 1 million Palestinians live in Israel. Genocide is what Nazi Germany did to Jews, starting with those who lived within its borders.

So you’re saying that the term is imprecise because Israel is only attempting to kill every Gazan, instead of literally *all* Palestinians? Do I have that right? If so, what’s your preferred term for this specific crime?

I’d call it an attempt to change the subject. Certainly there’s been violence in both sides but as you yourself point out, it started right around 1948. What else happened that year? But first, please answer my original question: what word would you use to describe the extermination of Gazans?

It was war. It has gone too far. But one would argue the firebombing of Dresden also went too far. That doesn't make it genocide, which was my point. Gazans voted for Hamas rule. They should have expected war with that vote. Hamas' purpose is to extinguish Jews. Why would you vote for that?

I will pose a question: how would you feel if every day you left your home you had to worry about whether you or other members of your family would be alive for dinner? Every single day. How much would you tolerate? What would you do if your son was killed while at a concert? Live in their shoes...

Trying to let them live. They tried a two state solution several times over decades. The Pal leadership didn't want that. So they are trying to let them live and work in Israel while also expanding the growing population of Jews within the borders of Israel. I have met the negotiators. Have you?
