“I do not support these companies that are employing people on Sunday to make another dollar. I like how Chick-fil-A has done it, and I wish more companies would do that,” one GOP North Carolina county board member said to argue against…wait for it…weekend voting. Shockingly, that argument worked.

Funny thing is that Hobby Lobby is “Christian” because their stores aren’t open on Sunday, but travel on the interstate on Sunday and there are Hobby Lobby truckers working and probably employees in the stores accepting deliveries.

If you can't vote on the weekend, you'll have to take time off during the week to vote, and you gotta make those hours up on Sunday. God will be furious.

Looking for any excuse to destroy voting these republicans Shut down the gas stations and grocery stores too, cowards

Typical GOP locking down businesses in one of their busiest days of the week for family entertainment, shopping and dining out. Screw Chick-fil-A- I won’t eat their “Christian” food!

First, they tried to tie voting to endless breadsticks at Olive Garden; now this. Really thought any restaurant references from that crowd would be more McDonalds-centric. (Why are they basing voting policies on what restaurants do, anyway?)

How would this argument even work? She is against poll workers "working" on a Sunday? There is no company. And working the polls is not a job. From both a business and voter perspective, having voting on a day many people usually have off anyway is a good thing.

Okay…. Then are you going to make it a holiday, so people can still get paid if they have to miss work to vote? Are you going to extend the hours of the polling location so people can swing by after work?
