It's well-documented that the president maintained a years-long friendship with the world's most notorious child sex trafficker. It might strike you as odd there aren't direct allegations of Trump engaging in child sex trafficking.. except there are. There are SO MANY. They just never get reported!

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

Three days after the August primary, election workers in one Washington county went to check for late mail-in ballots. They expected no more than a few dozen. Instead, there were more than 500 — each a vote that wouldn’t count.

has mmfa or someone like that compiled a comparison of airtime and front page headlines given to hunter biden vs jared kushner, given that kushner's alleged corruption is about 1000x larger, you would expect it to receive more coverage than Hunter's, right?

This is why conservatives love school shootings: it scares middle class parents into private schools, leaving public schools to "die on the vine" and helps direct moeny away from teachers and to the school security consultant industry, a jobs program for shithead ex-cops to make schools like prisons

Yes. The conservative scheme for education is a three-way split: high-priced academies for the children of the wealthy, religious instruction to brainwash the middle class, and a rump of prison-like public schools to discipline the lower class into obedience.

jamelle@jamellebouie.net

the other thing is that conservatives resolutely do not see the purpose of education as providing social mobility but as reifying and deepening existing inequalities of status. they are as hostile to low income students getting admission to elite institutions as they are black ones.

Again, the scandalous thing about Elon Musk spending $276 million on the 2026 midterms is NOT how *much* money it is. The scandal is how *little* money this is *to him.* Compared to his net worth, this is roughly equal to the median American my age spending $40.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that antitrust is BY FAR the most important issue of our time. One might think it's fascism, but why do you think the most powerful corporate players threw all their weight behind Trump 2024? The FTC was finally doing real antitrust work again under Biden.

No matter where you shop, you're getting screwed by Amazon. Amazon has found a way to make everything you buy - at Target, at a mom-and-pop shop, even direct from the manufacturer - more expensive. And they're not the only one: Expedia's done the same thing, but for hotel rooms.
