What a marvelous improvement upon justice! First accuse twenty thousand souls, then trouble oneself with discovering whether any offense occurred. Even the Salem magistrates might blush at such economy of proof.

Kansas tried proof of citizenship: 39 confirmed noncitizens on the rolls from 1999 to 2013, and 31,089 applicants suspended or canceled. Not worth the effort.

U.S. District Judge David O. Carter, who already ruled against the Trump administration over California’s voter rolls, has a hearing set for Tuesday. California wants a ruling on dismissal by Friday.

Exactly. I mean what the fuck with scheduling it for Tuesday - this is their entire strategy in playing the judicial system for time while they continue to commit crimes and sow chaos. And judges keep trying to act like it’s just normal process. Every day delayed allows more damage.

But Republicans were against "weaponizing the DoJ". Wasn't that something that mattered to them? Maybe Republicans had a platform before Trump. Maybe they didn't. But they sure don't now. Just grievances and bigotry.

It's like everything else with Trump's DOJ, they deal in inuendo and half truths. When they get called out by a judge, their facts never seem to match reality. The idea seems to be to cast doubt not necessarily to win the lawsuit.
