I am still rather upset about the step from windows 7 to 10. 7 I could pare down to having nothing running while it was idling and that was the last version of windows to be like that.

Kinda wild how often the bottleneck was, and still is, a slow disk. Swapping out spinny disks for SSDs is something I do for every old machine I touch, and it makes a huge difference every time.
