Yeah, I’m in the same boat. I assume one of the blocklists that added me has a large number of followers, because honestly with the follower count I have, I’d expect more engagement.

I think a few things are true at the same time. 1. Dead internet theory is real and if Twitter and Facebook were to remove all their bots you'd see similar engagement (or lack thereof). 2. We probably really do need a 12 step program due to the addiction cycles. bsky.app/profile/dist...

3. We (at least you and I) probably need to change content creation methods as the consumption styles are likely different 'over here'.

4. Bluesky, despite all of its numerous feeds, still has a fundamental distribution problem and it needs to grow, immediately. You can't expect engagement numbers on the order of X(124M DAU), Reddit (127M DAU), Snap (474M DAU), Insta (2B DAU) with 10M DAU. So if your likes are 1/10th, that's norm.

All that said, I do believe there is a higher human ratio here than just about everywhere else. I also think that the next major wave on ATProto will be an invite-only, humans-only enclave and the value of that pure human feed will be incredibly high.It just requires a ton of discipline to get there
