Hot Take: The Atmosphere with it's portability between PDSes in wholly different jurisdictions is a better demonstration of the Network State than Farcaster is currently.

I remember one of the OG SecOps complaints about JavaScript is that it's mystery meat that is just downloaded and executed without necessarily knowing what it's doing. I wonder if any of the ones holding that opinion have bothered to create an LLM-enabled inspector & observer to assess scripts yet?

Exactly why I used to use almost spent gift cards. Still registers as legit, unblocks this garbage, and I get to see if it's worth it or not. Worst case they drain $0.30 and I don't have to deal with a cancellation and chargebacks Now I just build or self-host a clone if it's not a unique data feed

maybe Product Hunt is a better fit? I guess it depends on the audience. Is it about developer distribution or is it about end user distribution? If it's about agent to agent distribution, I think delve town already has that covered.

I played the @austinkleon.bsky.social blackout game with Ian's post. WordPress among so many other things out there still uses PHP and the job security it provides, much like COBOL, should be protected at all costs. frfr tho be safe out there friends and patch your shit, thoughtfully and fast.

If this is only the Coachella stage, it falls so infinitely short of what such a partnership is possible of doing... www.lego.com/en-us/catego... They could reboot the Vidiyo, BOOST, and Mindstorms lines in one sweep. The first thing they should be selling is a working 808, not a set piece.

Code is code. Even obfuscated code can, with effort, be deobfuscated. It's a matter of effort and sufficient subject matter familiarity.

So I promised images of why Hinojosa has a great shot even without help on the ballot. This is the documented history of what happens when you leave Republicans in charge. The first time a state freezes and people die, it's a freak accident. The second time, it's negligence.

The rest of the country is much more afraid than Texas specifically. bsky.app/profile/dist... We’ve been trending purple for 2 decades and the gap closes either this election or next. Once I’m home I’ll share some images about why Hinojosa has a great shot even without adjacent help on the ballot

There is nobody else to blame. The RR commission COULD have done better, Governor Abbott COULD have done better, ERCOT COULD have done better, the Republican led legislature COULD have done better. They didn't. So it's time to go.

"Performance of posts on Bluesky doesn't match what I see on Twitter" Seeing both of these posts by @ens0.me perform as well as they have has me questioning everything. (I want to be super duper clear this is not some kind of call-out or backhanded dig.)

Alex Wykoff
@distributed.camp

Consider that Bluesky has about 1/10th the DAU. (bsky.app/profile/dist...) So for a post here to do 1/3rd as good is wildly successful. It shows that it is possible to achieve high engagement and that we're not in a perpetual drought of interaction on the platform.

Alex Wykoff@distributed.camp

4. Bluesky, despite all of its numerous feeds, still has a fundamental distribution problem and it needs to grow, immediately. You can't expect engagement numbers on the order of X(124M DAU), Reddit (127M DAU), Snap (474M DAU), Insta (2B DAU) with 10M DAU. So if your likes are 1/10th, that's norm.

Tom Skerritt was one of those great actors who, if you saw him as a child you thought, "what a jerk!" but then when you watch the movie again as an adult you find to be deeply relatable. He played such a brilliant grey area that vanishingly few actors have managed to land well.

Jen Chaney@jenchaney.bsky.social

Tom Skerritt was such a natural and was so good in so many things that everyone will, rightly, associate him with different films/shows. For me, it's TOP GUN and STEEL MAGNOLIAS. He was so likable, largely because he wasn't trying to be. variety.com/2026/film/ne...
