Worst part of being autistic for me, constantly being told I've said things I've literally not said. Constantly being told I've upset someone because of what I said, because if someone else had said it, it would have meant something else.

Said it before and I'll say it again. It's extremely tiring, the incessant need for subtext in the monkey speech. It's incredibly ridiculous that words do not simply mean themselves, but MUST be something else. Subtext is dumb, always will be.

Subtext has it's uses, but if you can't say anything without it *having* to mean something else... come on. If I say A and everyone has to insist it must mean B even when I say it doesn't... they're MY words, I said them, I know what I meant!

Which also plays into the war on language, and the entire 'you have to watch what you say' crowd. Because ppl expect subtext, erroneously, and believe it's the speakers' duty to say what listeners expect to hear.
