I reeeally don't want to relocate for a new job, but also I would give anything to be back in Marin County and eat some Sol Food again, I contain multitudes.

Let me tell you about Sol Food! It's a San Rafael / Marin institution, recognizable by its bright green building. They serve the best Puerto Rican food I've ever had. I usually got the pollo al horno with pink beans and split tostones / maduros, but everything I ever tried there was great.

It's absolutely worth the trip. Also there was always a long line when I was there, so get there early if you can.

I've attempted to recreate Sol Food's pollo al horno many times since I left the Bay Area. This is probably the prettiest version I ever did.

100% would eat I wish they were closer! Only puertorriqueño spot nearby specializes in mofongos--which are always welcome and excellent But I would like to try other fare
