I joke a lot, but I don't actually make my comic with an audience in mind. It's for everyone! And even if I did have a target audience, who cares? Most media isn't made for biracial lesbians, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying or connecting with stories that never considered me!

If it's okay for me to spend decades enjoying cishetero stories, it's okay for cishetero people to enjoy my gay little comic

The main reason I'm constantly going "shout out to the gays" is because 1) I am "the gays," and 2) our voices are so violently suppressed that it's vital to constantly shout and signal to each other where we are and what places we're safe.

Honestly some of the best stories were made small in scope with a limited audience in mind. Personal stories are 1000% better than generic ones made for everyone. And sometimes we need to make something that's just for ourselves. Something we wish we had when we were growing up.

And then the idiots with more reach than us say this kind of behavior is proof want to ban straightness or argue that stupid point, "Well of course she wants to eliminate white men! How can you even like it when you're not even a-" aaaaaaaaaaaa
