Have you noticed, lately, or noticed people around you commenting, that there just seems to be no money anymore. There's no money for companies to make the tv shows you like, the video games you like, the local diner you like shut down, no one you know can find a job. Think about that in context of

AI is now the biggest investment in all of US history as a percentage of GDP. Datacenter construction is up, all other construction is down. "AI Is Squeezing Out the Rest of the Stock Market," reported WSJ 2 days ago. We basically bet the whole economy on the most optimistic visions panning out.

Just to be clear, there is NO SIGNS this investment is ever going to pan out. This is going to be the most predictable economic collapse in human history while potentially being the most devastating with the leaders we have.

In other words, once that money is spent, it stays spent. It doesn't turn into something useful later like investing in, I dunno, railroad lines would. They're just putting resources in a rocket and shooting them off into space

Oh, I'm not sure you'll still think that once you see what they're planning to do with the rockets over the next two years

At least we can recycle the raw materials. Musk’s dipshit plan for orbital data centers (lmao) involves atomizing the decommissioned wreckage over the ocean.

Effectively zero. The ocean is very, VERY big. 48-ish tons of vaporized meteor debris falls onto the earth per day. The fallout from one coal plant or agricultural runoff from a medium town probably has several orders of magnitude more ecological impact.

I guess that's good. Hopefully the vibecoded guidance system firmware written by a guy who had no control systems experience but whom Elon Musk just really personally liked will deorbit where they're supposed to and not over Mexico City.

I just keep thining about, the zillions of dollars in fake money that are being generated in SpaceX & Anthropic stock. How much of that is being converted to real money, used to buy durable things, by the people running those companies. If Oracle collapsed tomorrow Ellison would still own Paramount.

Part of the point of corporations is they can own the debt instead of you. As if the king has a pool of servants he can send to kill and steal, and then when they're caught it is the servant assassinated instead of the king. Not sure what Ellison's personal exposure is. Or *which* Ellison is exposed
