SpaceX goes public tomorrow. A wonderful moment for cynical shills and Patagonia gargoyles to roll in the filth of the dodgiest company to list since Enron. This is the last exit route for capital for a minute. A big win for horrible people, but a brief one before a dark era for Silicon Valley

A couple years ago I put my old 401(k) into a more secure but less dynamic retirement vehicle. Partly I was already worried about the "AI" crash that is coming, partly I wanted at least one segment of my retirement to be super conservative as fallback. Boy am I glad I did that.

A dark era for institutional investors like the pension funds that take the pennies working people have to try and save for a less bleak future and transfer it to the ultra wealthy

Is it still too late to take out a loan to invest in SpaceX? I’ve already been turned down by one bank but can try again. I’m just worried that even if I empty my entire savings into it, I’ll still get Left Behind!

one cannot expect better when you have such a disgusting human garbage as POTUS.. is a generalized corruption, incompetence and greed.. at all levels.. including society itself. What’s happening now is a mirror image of society…

They never were a great idea: It immediately created the incentive to "get listed". That means to play to game the index funds, shareholders also wanted their companies to get indexed so that value can never fall.Show me the incentive, I'll show you the outcome. It always was stealing from the poor.

They've been a great investment vehicle, bypassing the old model of high fee brokerage, that was a scam on everyone. There was an issue with listing surges but that wasn't major... well it wasn't until Musk got everyone to help him scam the system.

I'm not arguing they aren't a good investment vehicle. I'm saying they change the mechanism of investing into specific companies. They're not valued by their value, but by their presence in the index fund. And now it's a grift on pension funds.

it’s insane how many normal people understand exactly what this IPO is. Was talking to a guy at work today that gambles all the time and has a bunch of money in bitcoin and he was like “I feel bad for the bagholders” lol. You don’t have to be a hedge fund to see this one coming.

Like magic I wake up to an eminent Iran deal, oil sold off to $86 and the second worst human being on the planet anointed ungodly billions all for successfully putting the worst human on the planet into the Presidency.

Yea I get the sense when it’s this obviously bad, it will do the opposite of what everyone thinks… just takes a billionaire to squeeze the shorts out. Elon is a pro as he did this to skyrocket Teslas price
