Mass Effect was my ultimate white whale, my all-time dream project. For the last couple years I'd been in discussion w/ BioWare & EA to take on the project & as part of that I wrote close to 20 minutes of music to explore where the franchise can go next, may as well share it!

First they stole people’s work and now their plagiarism machines are turning their victims into customer support - sort of. It would be funny if people weren’t losing their livelihoods

Fuck man. One helluva innings but still

My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

Also if you can check out his villainous turn on Babylon 5 around S3 I think. Amazing performance and an amazing show with some rough now cgi but well worth watching.

The fuck?!

Well this is eleventy-million kinds of Fucked Up. @latimes.com (who once contracted with me as a freelance reviewer and whom I struggled to get paid by) asserts that *merely reading its website* constitutes a permanent waiver of your right to sue it under *any circumstances*.

My flipping word it’s not yet the height of summer and this is what we’re dealing with. December is going to be brutal

Oh wow. Terminal List s2 has a real private Israeli University as a backdrop to a professor talking about the shows BBIEG (big bad islamnic evil guy) AND Bill Maher hosting guests to talk about the BBIEG. I enjoy these shows but this isn’t even pretending not to be propaganda now

The fact that Tim, even when he was much younger, rebellious, and eager, could already not feel sadness for a beacon of game design & development innovation and creativity going under when he could back smugness with "economically realistic" explains so much of why Epic is where it is right now.

In Mozambique heat indexes have locally risen >55C, the worst feel-like ever recorded anywhere in Southern Africa. There has never been anything like this or anything close. Records of High Minimums were locally broken by 8C in Zambia, where nearly 100% of the stations broke them

Let me share some positive news for a change: Despite all the gloomy headlines today, my understanding is that there are multiple paths actively being explored that would save Arkane Lyon. Anything can happen during negotiations, but at this point I'd be surprised if the studio is shut down.

Cybersecurity is important, but using a reward for contributing to the first championship in decades as a bait and switch os just disgusting

this is fucking appalling. i already knew james dolan (who owns the knicks and madison square garden) was a douche but this is next-level. www.nytimes.com/athletic/771...

Very interesting show about the start of the UK war on drugs. Based on a book & I’m sure dramatised to hell & back but still interesting how it starts with Thatcher wanting to deal with -ve press & then prob using drugs as a boogeyman to project strength & competence

Just finished it and yeah must be very dramatised because not one ending credits card telling you what happened to any of the people you just watched for 6+ hours or pictures showing the real people next to the actors playing them

There was a shit ton of evidence before this that proved that investors don’t use data & analysis no matter what the analysts and bankers tell us. It’s all fucking vibes and shiny objects man

Is it just me or should governments be looking at taxing these companies at appropriate cost effective rates (remove legal avoidance measures in tax acts) instead of taxing citizens? SAfrica has also floated these ideas. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

Ah ffs Discovery moved Steam vouchers to the banking app and now turned removed them entirely. Literally the only reason I had Vitality and a bank account

Genocided, displaced Palestinian kids aren't allowed to criticize their families' killers even in makeshift tent classrooms. We either rise up for Palestinians now or rise up for our own freedom later, because Zionazis are coming for us. #GazaHolocaust #SanctionIsrael #BoycottIsrael #EndZionism

In IFRS18 training and trainer was upfront - we doing this because investors wanted it. IMO does it make sense, maybe. Is information clearer and easier for the layman to understand, doubtful.

Is it more work for accountants that AI and LLMs cannot implement, definitely. At least I have job security for the next couple of years.
