Looks lovely and the advantages are explained. But I do not want one account for everything, I want to compartmentalise my stuff. One unique personal account, even if you host it yourself, sounds like a wet dream for advertisers, governments and every shady actor, but it sounds dystopian to me.

This seems cool — but it sidesteps the fact that you can create multiple accounts, compartmentalize your identity, and dodge the dystopian "one account to rule them all" model.

I think the great thing here will be spaces - where you choose who can access the data on your account. Right now it’s all public but soon it’ll be possible to have more private things, so you’ll actually have more control bc you’ll choose who can see the data

That sounds great too, however I don't know how it will affect this issue: bsky.app/profile/juan...

So, let me get this straight: @moderation.bsky.app can apply a !takedown to an account hosted in the @eurosky.social PDS and it gets suspended everywhere, even if you switch network providers in @mu.social ? This is not the "free speech != free reach" architecture we were promised.

I think it will persist until other providers can afford to invest in their own separate mod teams, which seems like a fairly big hurdle: bsky.app/profile/sher...

In the near future we will able to bypass Bluesky moderation decisions. At the moment it’s a question of resourcing - people and time.

Bluesky only moderate data compatible with the Bluesky app - all Atmosphere applications that do other things are not covered. Either way every app can have its own separate moderation or use another moderator.
