Holmes' lies worked out for a really long time! Musk's conspiratorial thinking is where it gets blurry. My first thought here also was that this is just a lie for the rubes as part of the election, until I thought about it more. Otoh hard to believe he thought FSD would work by 2019 or whatever

every weakness in my argument just points to holmes being more sociopathic, not elon being deluded. If i had to point out one authentic elon delusion its that he didnt look up how much soending is on entitements. He was busy and assumed the government is like a compant and has major personnel costs
