i think the scummiest part of LLM codegen is that you never know if you're getting an amalgamation of some common idea it's been trained on a million copies of, or just getting One Guy's passion project with the identifiers changed a bit, a thing i have overheard happening more than once

I'm just trying to find cli flags for an ffmpeg video encoder to get decent quality at a small filesize in a mildly reasonable timespan. I'm using svt-av1-hdr but that's close enough in LLM land to pull in similar but not equivalent flags for svt-av1-psy, svt-av1-essential, libsvtav1, and libsvtaom

Or wait, maybe it's for a GPU hardware encoder for the other GPU manufacturer. No, not that other one, the other other one.

(Doesn't help that the greater AV1 encoding community seems to have a really catty "RTFM" attitude, but there's a combination of no manual and constant changes to the scene)

Where Do You Think An LLM Is Going To Get The Flags From Then

I'm just trying to find a blog post or some rando on Reddit saying "I had good luck with [flags]", but half the screen is taken up by Gemini being like "Sure, you can use `ffmpeg -[deprecated flag] -[nonexistent flag] -[flag with the wrong value for this fork] -[nvidia flag]`
