wow sounds like double fine busted its union then you don't lay off every identifiable union organizer and also a bunch of supporters as just a haha whoopsie lil coincidence

Back in May, Double Fine employees petitioned for a union. Two weeks later, that petition was withdrawn. What happened? https://kotaku.com/inside-the-failed-fight-to-unionize-one-of-gamings-most-idealized-studios-2000742755

hmm, I read the whole thing and it seems a little more complex than the typical idea of "union busting", though I can see why the composition of the layoff would rightfully raise some eyebrows

people don't generally come out and say "yeah we busted that union", so it will always /seem/ more complex

sure yeah. this just isn't Rockstar kind of clear cut ya know? seems that the small size and loose hierarchy made things extra messy. the "busting" was not purely top-down. and the layoffs happened after the petition was already withdrawn and Double Fine were extricated from Microsoft

and to some extent we should expect precarious job security to correlate with union eligibility/support too. idk but there are still union supporters on board and I hope they are able to unionize someday. seems like they need it
