The Shining is a film of many intricate layers. On the surface, it seems to be about a man slowly losing his sanity over the course of an isolated winter. But on a deeper level it's really about how it would be fun as all hell to ride your big wheel around a giant empty hotel.

A couple of days before the first lockdown I was staying in a big historic hotel in Leeds for work, and must have been one of maybe five people staying at the hotel in total. Walking the empty corridors gave off the most incredible Overlook Hotel vibes I’ve ever experienced
